The AllTogether Clubhouse
The AllTogether Clubhouse is an independent continuation in New York of AllTogether, the exhibition co-curated by The Community and the Tom of Finland Foundation, supported by DIESEL. The exhibition is part of the work of Sini Rinne-Kanto, The Community’s Co-Founder and Head Curator, who also was FCINY’s Curator-in-Residence this year during February and March.
Shown for the first time in Venice, during the 59th Venice Biennale, and in Paris in 2022, the exhibition presented to the public for the first time Tom of Finland Foundation's permanent gay and erotic art collection. After the success of the first two shows, this third chapter of the project will take place near Stonewall and on the route of NYC Pride 2023 at 9 West 8th Street in the West Village.
The AllTogether Clubhouse is a homecoming show celebrating the history of gay and queer culture in New York; from nightlife and erotic arts to uncompromising activism, coinciding with a new curation of artworks from the Tom of Finland Foundation's permanent collection. The exhibition will focus on the Foundation's archival pieces, presenting works by pioneering artists combined with contemporary and younger artists from the collection, whose work and practice revolve around New York's past and present queer histories, as well as New York artists not connected to the Foundation and whose works will be in dialogue with Tom of Finland for the first time.
The exhibition space will be activated daily from noon to late through an extensive programming of talks, screenings, performances, and concerts, connecting generations of local figures, including LGBTQIA+ organizations and associations, who have shaped and bared witness to the ever-changing New York queer scene over the past decades.
The AllTogether Clubhouse exhibition and events program will be free to the public with registration. DIESEL has again partnered with the Tom of Finland Foundation and The Community on a special Pride 2023 capsule collection. The 17 items drop amplifies the message of freedom of expression, sexuality and individualism — in this case, specifically celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community — that has always been a key pillar for the brand. Designed for all genders, the collection is a celebration of the gay and queer community’s indomitable sense of pride. The capsule will be available worldwide from June 1st on www.diesel.com and in DIESEL boutiques.
