Project
MOBIUS 2.0
Finnish Cultural Institute in New York and Finnish Institute in London will continue the MOBIUS Fellowship Program after its pilot phase running from 2014-2016. MOBIUS is a Fellowship Program for Visual Arts Professionals based in New York, United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and Finland.
With the generous support of Kone Foundation, the program will continue to instigate and foster transatlantic collaboration between independent and institutional visual arts professionals and respective organizations. The aim of the program is to bring together progressive thinking and practices, enable long-term collaboration and realize thematic projects.
So far the program has enabled almost 40 working periods in the aforementioned countries. The program has two specific profiles. While the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York has been focusing on curating and new organizational models, the Finnish Institute in London’s focus has been on the museum and archive sector with support for freelancers as well.
In 2017 these two profiles will come closer together. MOBIUS Fellowship Program will highlight thematic curatorial collaborations, which will each include an international working period followed by a project realized in collaboration with the fellow and their partnering organization. More information will follow.
