We Are Recruiting a Producer

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE FINNISH CULTURAL INSTITUTE IN NEW YORK, TOGETHER WITH THE NETWORK OF THE FINNISH ACADEMIC AND CULTURAL INSTITUTES IS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCER TO BE BASED IN HELSINKI

 
The Producer will be in charge of coordinating the joint Together Again project of the Finnish Academic and Cultural Institutes for the duration of 18 months, from April 2022 to October 2023.

Together Again is the last installment of the Together Alone trilogy started by the network of Finnish Academic and Cultural Institutes in the spring of 2020 to respond to the challenges to the art world caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic continued, the Institute network launched a second open call in the spring of 2021 – Together Alone 2.0. 

To conclude the Together Alone trilogy and partake in rebuilding the international cultural field, the Institutes have now launched the Together Again festival. The hybrid festival will take place in the spring of 2023 and include new commissions and projects from the previous open calls that will be displayed on site in Helsinki and digitally travel through time zones from Tokyo to New York, via the 17 Finnish Academic and Cultural Institutes. The producer will work with this last Together Again installment.

The Producer will be in charge of the coordination, production, and communications of the Together Again project. We are looking for a person with an independent working style and good problem-solving skills.

The producer will be hired by the The Foundation for the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York, located on Kalliolinnantie in Helsinki. The work can be conducted either at the office or remotely in close contact with the Institute’s teams of professionals in the participating countries, especially the Institute´s in London, Madrid, New York, and Paris. The Producer reports to the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York´s Executive Director.


TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • Experience from working in the arts sector, preferably in the role of producer, project coordinator, communications officer, or a similar position

  • Excellent cooperation, coordination, and communication skills 

  • Knowledge of the best practices of communicating an international art project, and familiarity of social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, as well as digital publishing platforms, such as WordPress. The Producer will be responsible for creating content such as press releases, social media posts and newsletters, and developing the projects communications through various channels

  • Excellent written and spoken English, Finnish is not required but is considered an asset

  • An independent and positive can do attitude with good problem solving skills

  • A suitable degree, and/or relevant experience

  • Experience from project work in an international setting is considered an advantage


WHAT WE OFFER:

We offer a position in an exciting, international art community - giving a dynamic, fascinating vantage point on international cultural affairs.

The job is full-time (36 h 15 min/week), with a fixed salary of 3150 € per calendar month (brutto). The working hours are flexible as agreed with the Director of the Institute.

The working language is English; Finnish is not required, but is an asset in the role. The assignment is for the duration of April 15, 2022 to October 15, 2023 (18 months). The task will include some travel and evening work.
