The Finnish Cultural Institute in New York Is Seeking Part-Time Manager of Artist-in-Residence Program

The Finnish Cultural Institute in New York, first founded in 1990 as a residency center for Finnish artists, designers and architects, is a non-profit organization focusing on creating dialogue between Finnish and American visual arts professionals and audiences. The Institute is now seeking a part time Manager for its Artist-in-Residence Program, starting March 2017. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Institute runs its own residency program with two studio apartments in Harlem, alongside coordinating two residencies in collaboration with local studio and residency programs, ISCP and Triangle. The Artist-in-Residence Program Manager develops the Institute’s Artist-in-Residence Programs in collaboration with the Institute's Executive Director. The Program Manager creates and manages tailored programs for the selected artists-in-residence and assists the artists in making the most of their residency period in New York. The Program Manager also oversees management of the leases of the institute’s residency apartments. 

REQUIREMENTS: Experience of working and strong networks in New York in the field of arts, design and architecture. Understanding of artistic and design processes and how to best support them. Strong communications, social and follow up skills. Knowledge of Finnish arts, design and architecture are considered an advantage. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Working language is English; Finnish language skills are not required.
