Apply for a residency in New York!
The open call for 2019 residencies in New York are now open!
We are now accepting applications for the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York’s independent residency program for Finnish artists, architects and designers.
We are also announcing an open call for visual artists for residencies at ISCP – International Studio & Curatorial Program. This program is supported by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.
The FCINY residency and the ISCP residency have separate applications. You may apply for both residencies.
Deadline for all applications is April 29th, 2018!
FCINY RESIDENCIES
Since 1990, the Finnish Cultural Insitute in New York hosts an independent residency program for Finnish contemporary artists, designers and architects. All members of the Finnish Association of Designers (Ornamo); the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA); and the Artists' Association of Finland (STS) are eligible to apply.
The focus of the residencies lies on research, networking and project based work. The institute grants residencies for 1-3 months at a time. To get the most out of your residency, we prefer 2-3 -month residency periods. As an exception, we may grant 1-month residencies for specific projects.
The FCINY residencies are supported, but not fully funded. The selected artists / architects / designers cover their travel and living costs for the residency period. FCINY collects a residency fee, the amount of which depends on the duration of the residency. The selected residents are encouraged to seek grants for covering the expenses.
