Exciting News! We are thrilled to introduce our new Communications Coordinator Intern for 2025, Emma Termonen!

To get to know Emma better, we asked her a few questions about her journey, interests, and what she’s looking forward to during her year at FCINY.

I’m Emma, a recent graduate from Arcada University of Applied Sciences, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Culture and Arts. I’m passionate about culture, performing arts, event management, and social media! I also love traveling, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures.

Through my internships, past jobs, and personal projects, I’ve gained hands-on experience in social media marketing, working on everything from product promotion to behind-the-scenes content creation for television productions.

Outside of work, I love expressing my creativity through my own channels. On my TikTok (@emmatermonen), I post videos from my life, anywhere from daily vlogs to trying out new things and products. On my Instagram, I share my everyday moments and travels as a kind of visual diary!

I’m thrilled to be living and working in such a vibrant city filled with endless opportunities. New York’s creative energy is truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to dive into exciting projects, collaborate with talented artists, designers, and curators, and share the incredible work we create together. I’m also very grateful to work in a nonprofit and to see behind the scenes how it all comes together.

Beyond work, I am really excited to explore New York and experience everything the city has to offer. Also being so close to Broadway feels like a dream come true, and one of my personal goals is to see as many shows as possible while I am here. I am also eager to learn and grow both personally and professionally by working in such an international environment. I also cant wait to meet new people and possibly finding lifelong friends.

I had a hard time choosing between the many Broadway and West End musicals I’ve seen! Most of my travels have given me the opportunity to learn about different cultures, and I truly cherish those experiences. One special memory that comes to mind is a cultural tour in Vietnam, where I learned how to create egg shell mosaics. It was a beautiful experience that combined tradition and creativity in such a meaningful way.
