Baggage Collection by Hanna Anonen

Baggage Collection - Objects that travel with you — modular forms for movement and everyday change.

Finnish designer Hanna Anonen presents the Baggage Collection, a series of modular plywood objects inspired by travel, transition, and adaptable living. The collection explores how functional objects can create comfort, flexibility, and emotional connection within changing environments.

Inspired by the compact logic of luggage nested within itself, the collection emphasizes portability, efficient storage, and transformation. The modular pieces can function individually or as larger spatial compositions, adapting seamlessly to both homes and public spaces. The collection combines Nordic minimalism with playful color and expressive hand-drawn patterns. Anonen’s recent works introduce intuitive doodle-like motifs that highlight individuality where spontaneity sketches itself into being, and each object carries a quiet wink, playful, and softly aware of its own charm.

Among the newest pieces are the Baggage Incense Stick Holder, designed to support calming everyday rituals through scent and atmosphere, the Baggage a modular shelving and side table system created for compact living spaces and flexible use, and a modular candleholder that playfully expands the possibilities of ambient lighting through adaptable compositions and changing configurations. “At the center of the collection is the idea that objects can support emotional comfort and adaptability in everyday life,” says Anonen. “The modular structures are designed to fit different moments, spaces, and changing situations throughout life, offering a sense of calm, beauty, and balance across shifting environments.”

The Baggage Collection will be presented during New York Design Week 2026 as part of multiple exhibitions across the city. Anonen’s participation is made possible with generous support from the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York and the Furniture Foundation.
