Residency Unlimited (RU) fosters customized residencies for artists and curators working across disciplines and at various stages in their careers.

Residents receive critical production and administrative assistance with substantial emphasis placed on building professional networks. This networking aspect is further supported through the multifaceted partnering strategies that RU has put into place, including weekly meetings with art professionals aligning artistic and curatorial interests.

The residency offers wide networking possibilities in New York for a Finnish or Finland-based curator. The curator-in-residence does studio visits with artists both at Residency Unlimited and beyond, while they also take part in the vaster visitor program arranged by RU. The curator has the possibility to present their practice during a public event. There will be a desk space available for the curator-in-residence at the RU premises during working hours on weekdays.

The curatorial residency includes a visit to EXPO CHICAGO’s Curatorial Exchange event at the start of April 2022. The visit is realized in collaboration with Frame Contemporary Art Finland. TBC!

APPLICATION PERIOD:
The application period is November 22 to December 19.
